ANSI (American National Standards Institute) does not create the standards, but rather administers them. They also coordinate American products standards with international standards so the products can be used globally. CSA (Canadian Standards Association) develop standards to enhance public safety and health. UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is the most famous NRTL (Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory) that independently develops standards and test procedures for products, equipment and tools.

AmeriGlide vertical platform lifts come with safety features such as safety sensors, which prevents the lift from continuing to descend should an obstacle be in the way. The lift also comes with an emergency stop button. Keyed controls are an optional safety feature that can be purchased, along with a battery backup system that will ensure that you never get stuck due to a power outage. A battery backup is also useful for portable lifts, when a power outlet is out of reach.

If you wish to limit access to only employees with disabilities and you do not want the general public to use your commercial vertical platform lift, they can be keyed to limit use.

Although you should never exceed the maximum lifting capacity of your lift, AmeriGlide vertical platform lifts will work continuously without overheating and they have been extensively tested for optimum drive capacity and mechanical structure.
